Welcome to River & Run ("we," "us," "the site"). By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data and is part of these terms.

What this site is

River & Run is a free directory of fly shops, guides, and outfitters across the United States, plus related reference content about rivers, species, and seasons. We are an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any business listed here, and a listing is not an endorsement or a guarantee of any kind.

Where listing data comes from

Listings are compiled from public and third-party sources: business listings and mapping data, the shops' own websites, and their public social profiles, refreshed periodically and in places reviewed editorially. That means a business may be listed without its owner's involvement, and details can lag reality. See "How we source" on our About page for the methodology.

Accuracy: verify before you rely

We work to keep the directory accurate, but hours, addresses, phone numbers, services, prices, and whether a business is open at all can change without notice. Information on this site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, for general reference only. Call or check with the shop before making a trip. River conditions, hatch timing, and seasonal content are general guidance, not real-time reports; conditions on the water are yours to judge.

Fishing regulations

We do not reproduce fishing regulations. Licensing, seasons, bag limits, and access rules are set by state agencies and change frequently — always check the official state fish and wildlife agency for current regulations before you fish. Links to those agencies are provided for convenience only.

Ratings and reviews

Star ratings and review counts shown on listings are sourced from Google and displayed with attribution, linking back to the original. They are Google's data, not ours: we do not create, edit, or verify them, and we do not accept payment to change how any shop is rated or ordered.

Your listing: claims, corrections, removal

If you own or represent a listed business, you can ask us to correct, update, or remove your listing at any time via the "Claim or correct a listing" form on the About page. We honor reasonable removal requests for business listings. Submissions must be truthful and made by someone authorized to speak for the business.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to gear and retailers are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which shops we list or how we rank them. See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no scraping at a scale that burdens it, no reposting the directory wholesale as your own, no submitting false listings or corrections, and no using the forms to spam. The site's original content (editorial text, design, structure) is ours; the underlying facts about businesses are not proprietary, and each shop's name and marks belong to that shop. Machine-readable endpoints (our per-page JSON and llms.txt) are offered for reasonable, attributed use.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, River & Run and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content — including inaccurate listing details, closed or changed businesses, third-party websites we link to, or decisions made on the water. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the site is to stop using it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
